Constellating Words

Constelar palabras (Constellating Words) reveals the fluidity and dynamism of language, making it a kind of multiverse that is sustained by the conceptual connections between words, perhaps revealing a little-visible intelligence. By zooming in on a particular word, we observe its entire context, everything it carries with it every time we write it, whether we are aware of it or not. We see how disciplines considered to be distant or disparate work with the same concepts but with different words, sometimes making it seem as if they are speaking different languages, making the exchange of ideas difficult or tense. This disconnection, which often appears to exist between different universes of knowledge, manifests itself only between signifiers, not in the underlying semantics.

The web we weave is and will be in constant motion. Two main forces are at work in it: words move away from each other, to ensure difference and discrimination, while their meanings sustain the link and structure them with a flexibility that gives language its ability to adapt and evolve.
